Any other Runners here?

I'm running in the Chicago marathon this fall and a local half-marathon this summer with some smaller races mixed in.

Chicago will be my 4th official marathon. I say official because in training I've run 9 or 10 "unofficial" ones (Just me and my Ipod with no cheering crowds)

the feeling of coming down the home stretch of downtown Houston with thousands of people cheering is a feeling I won't ever forget. It's something I wish everyone could feel.

For non-runners a marathon is 26.2 miles non-stop.

Military here so running is a large part of our PT. Do we run 20 some odd miles...no lol. We probably do that over the course of a week though...just not in one sitting...unless you chose too...which I don't lol. And for the most part, I don't drink.

Fatass? -- I've lost 60 pounds and kept it off for about 5 years now. Running being a big part of that.

Geeks? well you can be a runner and still be a geek. I've got Game Informer, PC Gamer and Official Xbox Mag sitting in my bathroom, not playboy and penthouse. Plus enough spare parts to build an extra computer or two if the mood ever hits. etc. etc. etc.

Heavy Drinker? no comment. haha well actually used to be. that had something to do with the 60 pounds lost. I used to LOVE Capt. Morgans and coke. loved it Waaaaay too much. Don't drink now.

Pot Heads? Well my best friend is a pot head . . . does that count? haha

I run during the summer but Cleveland is not conducive to running when we can get 8 inches of snow in a matter of seconds...and being poor prevents me from having a gym membership.

But, since it is warming up a few of us are talking to starting our running routine throughout the park system here.
