So here is the thing guys, I am a Chemical Engineer that does process design and designs oil facilities basically from scratch. Very interesting and boring all at the same time, but it means that my company (Fluor) is a contract company that does work for other people. In the current economy there are not too many jobs out there to bid on so I am probably going to find myself with not much to do come Mid/End of July.
Alas, instead of being laid off I figure I will instead take a temporary leave of absence. I figure I will be away for about 6 months ~ ish. So I thought it would be a great time to go visit some of Oceania and Asia (Because the 12 countries I have been to in the world just isn’t enough to satisfy my wanderlust). I will probably start in Auckland, New Zealand, then go to Wellington and afterwards travel up the coast of Australia. Then it will be Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and maybe China among others.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of places to go / see while I am out there. For example the famous temple ruins in central Cambodia look really neat.
On a side note the KJ presence will not be completely non-existent as someone like Neko will probably take over my account while I am gone (seasonals and all…).
